This San Francisco jazz and R&B group moves with the easy confidence of players who know the roots of the Great American Songbook and love to stretch inside it. Their sound jumps from smoky speakeasy swing to the lively pulse of 1940s blues, touching the soulful corners of artists like Ruth Brown and Etta James.
Led by vocalist and bassist Dorian Bartley, this Petaluma based acoustic quartet features Robby Elfman on piano and clarinet, Peter Graves on sax, and Tony Blake on drums. They bring a balance of elegance, rhythm, and playful energy that turns a set into a journey through decades of iconic American styles. Whether they lean into a slow ballad or spark up a Basie inspired stomper, The doRiaN Mode keeps the room connected to the groove.
